Breast Lift Scars
Where they are and how they heal
Where breast lift (mastopexy) scars sit, how they fade over 12 to 18 months, and the aftercare that helps them settle.
Where the scars are
Breast lift scars typically sit around the areola, run vertically down to the crease beneath the breast, and sometimes along that crease, depending on the technique used.
How they heal
In the early months they usually look firm and pink, then gradually flatten and fade over roughly 12 to 18 months.
Caring for them
Sun protection, silicone once healed and a supportive bra as advised all support how the scars settle.
Realistic expectations
Breast lift scars are permanent, but for many people they become far less noticeable with time and good aftercare. Scarring is individual, so a personal assessment is the only way to know what to expect for you.
