Where the scars are
Facelift incisions are usually placed above the hairline at the temple, then run down in front of the ear, around the earlobe and behind the ear. If the neck or jawline is also being treated, a small incision may be made under the chin. The scars are designed to sit within natural creases and the hairline so they are as discreet as possible.
How they heal
The scars are usually red or firm at first and settle over the following months, typically becoming well concealed by their position and, where relevant, by hair.

Sun protection and gentle scar care once healed, along with your surgical team’s guidance, support how the scars settle.
Realistic expectations
Facelift scars are permanent but are carefully placed to be discreet, and for most people become difficult to see. Scarring is individual, so a personal assessment is the only way to know what to expect for you.
