Having worked closely with Douglas, in APS, for several years, Fouzia became a full partner in February 2023.
Miss Fouzia Choukairi is a fully qualified, British trained, Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive Hand and Aesthetic Surgeon. She holds a substantive, Consultant post at the University Hospital of South Manchester: having been appointed in 2020; in a general plastic surgical role, with interests in hand and lower limb trauma and complex gynaecological reconstruction, following cancer surgery.
As one of the few female plastic surgery surgeons, Miss Choukairi offers unique and sensitive female care and perspectives. She believes that every patient is different and offers individualised counselling and treatment pathways, with the emphasis on patient safety, excellent results and good patient outcomes.
After her medical degree and completing her basic surgical training, Miss Choukairi, progressed to specialist plastic surgery training at centres of excellence in the West Midlands and Northwest regions.
She has completed her FRCS(Plast) and is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council. In addition she holds the European Diploma of Hand Surgery.
Miss Choukairi has a passion for teaching and training and is a visiting Professor of Surgery at the International Medical School in Casablanca. She has contributed to the medical literature.
She has always had a specialist interest in aesthetic plastic surgery and has completed aesthetic fellowships, gaining significant experience, being trained by and operating with recognised experts in this country. Having gained significant aesthetic surgical experience over several years of working within APS, she is delighted to be recognised for her skills, being appointed as partner.
As an experienced, fully accredited plastic surgeon, he is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council and is a full member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, (BAAPS).
Douglas is on the Council for BAAPS and was President of the Association between 2006 and 2008.
